Thursday afternoon, June 16, Sanctus Real kicked off the evening concerts on the main stage. It was about 100 degrees with the sun beating down on us when they played. The crowd was obviously struggling to get into the set, probably due to the heat, but the band played a wonderful set. For me, the highlight was hearing the lead singer, Matt Hammitt, tell how GOD is working with their baby boy Bowen who was born with a serious heart defect. (See the next-to-last video below. This was the second amazing story we heard that day, with the first being Seventh Day Slumber singer Joseph Rojas telling us how GOD delivered him from a dark past that included a $400/day addiction to cocaine. (Unfortunately I wasn't able to record the Seventh Day Slumber set, but it was great!)
