During His famous mountain message (a.k.a The Sermon on the Mount), Jesus repeatedly corrected common misunderstandings regarding the Law. "You have heard that it was said...," Jesus said time after time, followed by a common inaccurate statement and the correct understanding.

The problem of misconstruing or misunderstanding Scripture is not unique to the Jews of Jesus' day. This category has been created for posting verses that are commonly ignored or "changed" by believers today. The hope is to draw increased awareness as to places where change is needed.
