What makes a Bible class great?
What separates effective from ineffective Bible class teachers?
Over the years, I've often asked myself and others these types of questions.
As of this post, I have publicly taught Bible classes for 16 years and several years longer if I count private studies. That length of time is not going to astonish anyone, I realize. I simply mention it because for at least that long I have been keenly attentive to keys for leading effective Bible classes.
I'm by no means an expert or world-class Bible class teacher, but I have learned a few things over the years.
And periodically, I have people ask me either for advice on being an effective teacher or for suggestions for making Bible classes effective, so I decided to put together a free download of my tips.
In an attempt to make this as helpful as possible, I'm including a variety of files, including:
- A PowerPoint presentation which can be used in teaching a "how-to" class,
- A single-page infographic PDF for quick reference,
- An MP3 audio recording explaining the various points, and
- A separate PDF document containing a written explanation similar to the audio file.
Once you download the files, feel free to leave feedback or questions in the comments here and I'll be happy to help in any way possible.
I want to learn from you too.
If you have tips or suggestions from your teaching experience that I didn't include, please share them in the comments below.
