May 6 – Seeing GOD in the Psalms (Part 18)

Reading

  • Psalm 4; 12; 20; 25; 32; 38

Devotional

We are now entering the next grouping of psalms which covers a variety of feelings from the believer directed toward GOD.

Psalm 4

GOD is righteous and there are times where we long for Him to answer our cry. He has set apart the godly for Himself and He will hear when I call upon Him. Though the LORD is angry at times He does not sin. And we must live this way too. GOD alone makes us dwell in safety regardless of the evil that surrounds us.

Psalm 12

The words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay and purified seven times. The LORD will keep us safe and protect us from evil people forever.

Psalm 20

The LORD saves His anointed, answering him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our GOD.

Psalm 25

GOD is my Savior. My hope is in Him all day long. He is good and upright. He teaches sinners His ways, guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. All of GOD’s ways are loving and faithful for those who keep His commands of the covenant. GOD will instruct the one who fears Him in the way chosen for him. The LORD confides in those who fear Him. He makes His covenant known to them. Only GOD will release my feet from the trap. My hope is in Him.

Psalm 32

GOD is my hiding place. He will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. The LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him.
