Devotional
Today we begin the second section of Psalms which deal with righteousness and wickedness. We continue our focus on what we can learn about GOD’s nature and character.
Psalm 1
GOD watches over the way of the righteous.
Psalm 14
GOD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand and seek Him. GOD is present in the company of the righteous. GOD is the refuge of the poor.
Psalm 36
GOD’s love reaches to the heavens and His faithfulness to the skies. GOD’s righteousness is like the mighty mountains and His justice like the deep sea. GOD preserves (keeps alive) man and animals. GOD’s unfailing love is priceless. GOD gives His children a feast of abundance and drink from the rivers of His delight. With GOD is the fountain of life and GOD is the light by which we see.
Psalm 37
GOD will give the one who trusts in Him and does good the desires of their heart. GOD will make that man’s righteousness shine like the dawn and the justice of their cause like the noonday sun. GOD laughs at the wicked because He knows their day is coming. GOD upholds the righteous. GOD knows the days of the blameless. GOD will make the steps firm of the one in whom He delights, and although that man stumbles, he will not fall because GOD upholds him with His hand. GOD loves the just and will not forsake the faithful ones. GOD will not leave the righteous man nor let him be condemned when they are brought to trial.
GOD will exalt those who wait on Him and keep His ways. GOD saves the righteous. GOD is their stronghold in time of trouble. GOD helps them and delivers them from the wicked.
Psalm 39
GOD has made our life short. GOD rebukes and disciplines men for their sin. He consumes the sinner’s wealth like a moth.
